چکیده
In this study, a computational fluid dynamics model was employed to simulate the impact of breaking wave on foundation an offshore wind turbine. The accuracy numerical simulation validated in comparison with published experimental results for Large Wave Channel (GWK) at Hannover, Germany. To understand influence wave-breaking location monopile support structure, series shoaling waves different spilling and plunging types were considered terms surf-similarity parameter ([Formula: see text]) relative distance text]). After processing total load empirical mode decomposition method low-pass filter, instantaneous nature slamming generated by obtained. Subsequently, exponential-type refined dynamic established consider characteristics filtered load. [Formula: text] found be dominant factors run-up phenomena, characteristics, wave-dependent parameters. demonstrated that these two coefficients can applied determine loads.

Study on Load-Bearing Characteristics of a New Pile Group Foundation for an Offshore Wind Turbine
Because offshore wind turbines are high-rise structures, they transfer large horizontal loads and moments to their foundations. One of the keys to designing a foundation is determining the sensitivities and laws affecting its load-bearing capacity. In this study, this procedure was carried out for a new high-rise cap pile group foundation adapted to the loading characteristics of offshore wind ...
متن کاملEvaluation of Turbulence on the Dynamics of Monopile Offshore Wind Turbine under the Wave and Wind Excitations
In recent years, the use of offshore wind turbines has been considered on the agenda of the countries which have a significant maritime boundary due to more speed and stability of wind at sea. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of wind turbulence on the aero-hydrodynamic behavior of offshore wind turbines with a monopile platform. Since in the sea, the wind turbine structures ar...
متن کاملFoundation damping and the dynamics of offshore wind turbine monopiles
The contribution of foundation damping to offshore wind turbines (OWTs) is not well known, though researchers have back-calculated foundation damping from “rotor-stop” tests after estimating aerodynamic, hydrodynamic, and structural damping with numerical models. Because design guidelines do not currently recommend methods for determining foundation damping, it is typically neglected. This pape...
متن کاملPerformance based assessment of offshore wind turbine platform using the constrained new wave method
The purpose of this study is to provide a more accurate and practical method than static and spectral methods to assess the offshore wind turbines that are loaded with both wave and wind time history, the structure is evaluated by increasing the load intensity in successive steps to the stage of failure and the performance of the platform in different wave patterns are investigated. In this stu...
متن کاملVertical Wave Impacts on Offshore Wind Turbine Inspection Platforms
Breaking wave impacts on a monopile at 20 m depth are computed with a VOF (Volume Of Fluid) method. The impacting waves are generated by the second-order focused wave group technique, to obtain waves that break at the position of the monopile. The subsequent impact from the vertical run-up flow on a horizontal inspection platform is computed for five different platform levels. The computational...
